This is a personal logo design that I created as a part of my Graphic Design course at Millard South. The assignment was to create a logo without any words or type that is representative of ourselves. Overall I love this design because I put so much of myself into the creation of it. This logo has a special place in my heart because this class is what inspired me to want to become a graphic designer.
For these design, each element was chosen to represent my style and favorite things.
I chose the colors because turquoise is my favorite color. I paired it with the citrusy pink and orange to represent summer because I was born on June 21 (the 1st official day of summer).
The first thing that most people see is the turtle, which I chose because it is one of my favorite animals but mostly because it represents my personality and my experience “breaking out of my shell” when going from an extremely shy girl to a varsity level cheerleader.
The center design in the “shell” triples as representing a pretty flower and also the sections of a mandarin orange, which I was known for always bringing to class to snack on.
The curly style of the head and arms was to showcase my “artistic style”. I’m someone who loves to doodle and frequently cover my notes in curls, swirl and zentangle-ish designs.
The body of the turtle and left arm form a cursive letter “C” to represent my name. My first name, Cassidy, and also my last name, Conrad.
